Open JOINED File

The JOINED format is a type of data file created by HJ-Split, a program that splits larger files into several smaller files and then rebuilds them back into the original file.

About HJ-Split

HJSplit is a freeware tool to split and recombine files larger than 100 gigabytes.

The program comes with four easy-to-use functions: split, join, compare, and checksum.

When splitting a file, you can specify the size of the parts, which can range from kilobytes (kb) to gigabytes (gb) to fit the individual pieces on floppy disks, CD/DVDs, USB drives, and other portable storage, or to send them by email or upload them to an online web space.

HJSplit Join recombines previously split files to re-create a file the same size as the original.

HJCompare takes two files and checks if they are the same length and if the bits are in the same position.

Finally, Checksum generates an MD5 checksum which, for example, can be shared with the recipient of your split files to confirm they haven't changed.

HJSplit runs in a portable way, without installation from a small file.

The JOINED file represents the reconstructed copy of the original file but with the JOINED file extension added, and can in any case be used to transfer large data files into smaller parts, such as email attachments.
